The trend has become so popular that the first face any winner of beauty contest will see is that of a south Indian Producer. Vimala Raman has been the latest entrant into the field in this way. Vimala Raman was born into a Tamil family which migrated to Australia. She rose to prominence after winning the Miss India Australia title in 2004. She was also adjudged as the Miss India Australia cyber queen during the course of the contest.
It wasn't a surprise that Vimala Raman's next stop was into the Tamil industry. Vimala Raman debuted in Tamil films with her movie Poi. The movie was directed by legendary Tamil director K.Balachander. She acted with Suresh Gopi in Time and with Ajmal in Pranayakalam. Even though all those films failed, Vimala Raman did make her mark in the field.
Already Vimala Raman has acted in fifteen films by now. She has acted in four south Indian industries. But she is more successful in Malayalam industry than any other industry. There are rumours she will be acting in a Hollywood film produced by an NRI. Vimala Raman has quickly become one of the most popular south Indian actress. She is the most searched south indian actress in Google search.
